El Almacén is a cultural innovation centre occupying two adjoining reconverted nineteenth-century townhouses in Arrecife. In 1974 it opened to the public as a “multi-use centre” for the promotion of contemporary culture. Since 2016 it is the main venue for the Muestra de Cine de Lanzarote.

Cueva de los Verdes
Acknowledged as the world’s longest lava tube, Cueva de los Verdes is a unique place shrouded in legend. It came into being about 5,000 years ago in the north of the island, following the eruption of the La Corona volcano. Today it is used to hold concerts and other special cultural events, including the opening ceremony for the Muestra de Cine de Lanzarote.

Casa de la Cultura
A splendid two-storey nineteenth-century mansion house in the heart of Arrecife, with views of the sea and the Kiosko de la Música. On exhibit in its rooms are works by local artists as well as some restored frescoes by César Manrique. This is the Muestra’s venue for roundtables and presentations.

Casa de San José
A historical fortress built between 1776 and 1779 as an element of defence against pirate attacks, it now houses the International Contemporary Art Museum, organises interesting exhibitions and owns works by Spanish twentieth-century masters like Millares, Tàpies, Mompó, Pancho Lasso… It is used in the Muestra as a meeting point for interviews with its guests.
