Judgement At Nuremberg

Trasfoco: And Life Goes On Section

An ordinary US judge arrives to the city of Nuremberg to preside the tribunal held by the Allied forces to prosecute leading members of the Nazi judicial system. Here he would have the enormous responsibility of prosecuting various lawyers accused of having collaborated with the Reich. What from the outset was a complex undertaking, came up against almost irresolvable legal and moral dilemmas: Could a judge be condemned just for applying the laws of his country? Did separation of powers have any meaning when the absolute leader is someone like Adolf Hitler? Plagued by many ethical concerns and political interests, he would have to decide on the lives of the accused.
