Caro Diario

The ideas, thoughts and emotions of a person have been captured throughout history in such varied documents as memoirs, confessions and autobiographies, where each individual chooses what they wish to leave of their passage through this world. Who was I? What did I do? What did I think? How did I see the people around me? What defined my historical era and the places I lived in? These are questions everyone answers, or leaves unanswered, as best they can or wish to. Yet there is one type of document that does not reflect on the past but on the immediacy of daily life: the diary. Each day, a few notes—whether about strolls through a beloved city, travels to islands with a good friend or fear of death and illness. But always beginning with the same phrase: Dear diary.
