I Don’t Think I Can See An Island

Trasfoco

See, look, observe, notice, scan, scrutinise, glimpse. I feel as though what I see far off might be… no, no, I’m wrong, my eyes are deceiving me. What do you think? Or rather, what do you see? Is that… could it be? No, I’m mistaken—it’s just a mirage. But how can that be? One moment it seems so clear, and the next it’s something else entirely. Or is it the light confusing me? The brightness and reflections stop me from being certain. No, it’s the film that alters everything, that distorts what should be clear, making everything seem like what it isn’t. What a pity, if only it could be sharper. But then again, it’s beautiful to see it this way, not knowing whether it is or isn’t. I don’t know; perhaps, in truth, I’m not seeing an island at all.
