In a desert where the wind wipes away footprints and the sun beats down relentlessly, a boy sets off in search of his family after they disappear in a sandstorm. Dust clings to his skin like a reminder of the harshness of the place, the wells are dry and every metre holds some hurdle. Each step reinforces the brutality of a world where water is a rare miracle and where the air burns. His journey is an act of resistance: he shelters in abandoned ruins, listens to broken stories and learns to read tiny signals in an apparently desolate landscape.
