Sección Trasfoco: The wind

An old windmill for grinding grain in Garafía, in the north of the island of La Palma, resists the passing of time and is on the verge of destruction. Marcelino, the kind old miller, continues looking after it every day with the same loving attention as when he was a boy, before he set off to Cuba in search of a better life. However, he was homesick and soon returned to the Canaries, and ever since he has remained faithful to the windmill and its turning sails, doing the same job as in his youth: grinding grain for gofio, a kind of flour typical of La Palma. Today, after more than one century tirelessly turning and grinding grain to produce food for local people, the end of the two close friends seems inevitable.
