Gente de mar y viento

Trasfoco: The wind

Various farming and fishing communities in southwest Mexico have been fighting for years in a bitter struggle. The arrival of big multinational corporations divided the inhabitants of many villages in the state of Oaxaca between those who decided to sell their land for future wind farms and those who view this kind of offer as a short-term fix that will not solve their economic problems. The different communities argue about the best path to follow, while lawyers and sales agents continue pushing their offers and their lease contracts. One world begins to disappear with the arrival of new clean energy, but another world refuses to be blown away for ever by the inclement winds of history and big capital.
