Trasfoco: The Salt Section

Salt

In an isolated place in the former Yugoslavia, during the Second World War, a group of partisans fighting against Nazism are left with virtually no supplies of salt. Without this mineral, essential for life, the inhabitants of the area are soon badly affected. Old people and children begin to die. They sometimes even drink animal urine to extract some of the much-needed mineral. As the days pass by, the partisans feel the effects more and more. Tension starts to mount among them and local traders start to take advantage of the situation by setting up a black market in the mineral. The only way out is to attack an area occupied by the Nazis in order to get their hands on their stocks of salt. And so, without any other alternative, they set off on a mission that will almost certainly lead to death.
