Scorched Earth
When the volcano broke in 2014 on the island of Fogo (Cape Verde), in the town of Chã das Caldeiras, burying and destroying villages and crops, I remembered what happened in Lanzarote in 1730 when the volcano submerged villages and configured what would be the current Timanfaya National Park.
