Óscar Peyrou is a film critic who travels the world from festival to festival, writing about the films presented at them. His method is, to say the least, heterodox: he reviews the movies without seeing them, paying attention only to external aspects like “the name of the actors, the design of the posters or the sound of the titles.” His cynical outlook, mocking an often laughable cultural environment, is nonetheless suffused by a sense of sadness. In his modest home in Madrid he waits in solitude for the next invitation to a festival in Valladolid, Chicago or Buenos Aires, where he will take his profoundly melancholic attitude with him.
