Taming the Garden

Official Section

In Georgia, a well-known billionaire who loves plants and nature pays huge sums of money to buy ancient trees with which he establishes a personal sentimental relationship. Regardless of the original location of these great, often monumental trees he mobilizes dozens of workers to uproot them and transplant them to his private garden, often hundreds of kilometres away. The trees are subjected to a process of relocation that transports them on narrow dirt tracks or by boat. When passing through the country’s villages and towns, the people are stunned by the display of such unbridled power. Beauty and a love for trees is contrasted with a desire to possess, able to overcome any obstacle in its path.
