The Wind

Trasfoco: The wind

An impoverished young woman named Letty Mason travels by train from the state of Virginia across the country to Sweetwater in Texas, where she is going to live with her cousin on his ranch. On the way, she is bothered by the terrible effects of the constantly blowing wind in the south. When she arrives to the ranch she gets a cold reception from her cousin’s jealous wife who sees Letty as a threat and rival. Meanwhile the wind keeps blowing, becoming a character in its own right, and Letty tries to make a life for herself, but the macho southern attitudes which only see her as an erotic object or a potential wife, end up driving her to the brink of despair.
