Programme. Cruce de Caminos: Filmmakers from the Canaries

Similar to previous years, Muestra de Cine de Lanzarote is once again selecting and promoting shorts made in the Canary Islands whose subject matter or formal qualities are worthy of special interest. Before being presented now in Lanzarote, some of these films have already been successfully premiered at various festivals around the world. Like other previous years, the themes dealt with and the formal experimentation of these shorts are very different from one another. In some cases, they explore armed conflicts around the world while in other cases they focus on charismatic, peculiar or important and characters from the island of Lanzarote, like Juan Brito or José García “Pillimpo”, and, in yet other cases, they address issues related with feminism or with the profound changes human nature is undergoing in our increasingly more indecipherable cities.
